Chocolate Chestnut Fudge Cake

Using a chestnut puree in this mix makes for a fantastic fudgey, chocolatey cake that simply melts in your mouth. Friends will think you’ve spent hours slaving away in the kitchen, when in fact this little beauty takes just 15 minutes to prepare!

Serves: 8-10

Prep: 15 minutes

Cook: 40-50 minutes


  • 200g dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids)
  • 6 eggs
  • 125g grass fed butter
  • 2 tablespoons raw honey or maple syrup
  • 415g tin of chestnut puree


  1. Pre heat the oven to 180°C/350°F/gas mark 4.
  2. Melt the chocolate, butter and honey in a glass dish over a pan of simmering water.
  3. Remove the dish from the heat and stir in the tin of chestnut puree.
  4. Whisk the eggs and fold into the mixture.
  5. Pour into a 9 1/2 inch loose bottom cake tin and bake in the oven for 40 minutes.
  6. After 30 minutes start to check the cake by inserting a knife into the middle, it should not come out clean (you want more of a sticky mixture) as the middle of the cake is best a little moist.
  7. Once you’re happy remove the cake from the oven and serve warm.
  8. Wrap the leftover cake in greaseproof paper and keep in the fridge, eaten cold this cake is like a slab of rich chocolate fudge. Yum.
