Ingredients

  • 3 bananas
  • 100g dark chocolate
  • Handful of nuts, crushed

TIP
If you can get hold of wooden lolly sticks you can make your own Banana Feast Bars! Or if you want to save some hassle and aren’t too bothered about presentation, you can dip the banana in the chocolate and nuts and simply lay it on the greaseproof paper.

Method

  1. Melt the chocolate over a pan of simmering water or in the microwave. Place in wide bowl to make it easy to dip the bananas. Allow the chocolate to cool for 5 minutes so it begins to thicken and is easier to coat the bananas.
  2. Place the crushed nuts on a plate.
  3. Clear some space in the freezer as you need to work quickly.
  4. Slice the bananas in half and insert a teaspoon into each one. Have a glass ready and place it on a tray. (The chocolate will drip a little.)
  5. Dip the banana in the chocolate, coat thoroughly and roll in the nuts. Gently place in the glass (the tray will catch any dripping chocolate). Work quickly to coat the remaining bananas. (You can begin to place them in the freezer to stop them dripping). Place in the freezer for 5–10 minutes until the chocolate sets.
  6. Remove from the freezer and gently pull out the teaspoon from each choc ice. Place back in the freezer to set for 2–3 hours or overnight.
  7. When serving, wrap a little foil or greaseproof paper around the choc ice. The chocolate will melt quickly.
