The Best Approach for Losing Weight

If you’ve followed us for a while you’ll know I’ve had a 5-year battle of spiralling health symptoms.

Me, Keris – the nutritionist, personal trainer and yoga teacher.

The one who does all the healthy stuff 🤯

So you can also add guilt, shame, anxiety and overwhelm to my daily struggles as I desperately tried to fix the situation and failed.

Multiple times.

It started with a diagnosis of early menopause and went on to include:

  • Chronic gastritis
  • Silent reflux
  • Oesophagitis
  • Sinusitis
  • Histamine intolerance
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Detached retinas
  • Perioral dermatitis
  • Suspected gastroparesis
  • Long Covid

Symptoms are finally decreasing 😌

Here’s what started to change the game:

  1. Addressing the impact of emotions on my health and processing (not talking about) past traumas, stress and grief.
  2. No more FIXING, instead a very simple healing routine was put in place to calm my body and nervous system.
  3. Accepting it will take as long as it takes and not rushing the process.
  4. An experienced coach who guided me through the anxiety, struggle and doubt that something this simple would work.

I firmly believe this is also the best approach for losing weight.

Your body wants to be healthy.

I know you don’t believe this because I didn’t either.

But it’s often trying to just survive.

In ancestral times, excess weight and poor physical fitness would make you vulnerable to predators.

Your metabolism isn’t broken… in case that’s what you’re thinking.

Life and your response to it just got in the way.

Your experiences and emotions are the main reason you struggle to stick at anything and fall into self-sabotage.

You know this.

And you’re probably thinking…

“Yes! But what on earth can I do about it?”

You don’t need to do big changes – just in case you’re panicking about having to resign, file for divorce or retreat to a cabin in the woods just to lose weight.

For me emotional education and some simple tools created the competency to deal with life and any negative stuff it threw at me.

Once I got this in place, my choices around nutrition, exercise and rest became intuitive.

No more “shoulding.”

It’s worked tremendously for clients too.

When you start tackling this, everything gets easier (I promise!)

You stop eating your feelings, soothing anxiety with alcohol or distracting yourself by over delivering at work. over parenting and trying to fix the world.

A very easy and realistic nutrition and movement plan and regular touch points with a coach, facilitates the consistent weight loss and lasting results.

Metabolism, hormones, histamine, digestion and all the things derailed by stress – resume normal function.

As I said, your body wants health.
