Suffering With Acne? Read This Blog!

7th August 2021

I know this is grim but I love a good spot squeeze. I drive Matt mad following him around the house because I’ve spied a pimple. If I hang around long enough he finally gives in and lets me have my moment. Joking aside, I still have reoccurring nightmares about acne.

25th January 2021

Many clients have reached out to me through each Lockdown experiencing hormone issues. Since being a teenager I’ve struggled with my own and experienced first hand how they impact your digestion, mood and skin too. Your hormones are cyclical and responsive. For…

What a HRT Prescription Taught Me About Menopause

11th December 2019

I dedicated the beginning of 2019 to writing a Peri-Menopause and Menopause E-course for our Fitter 365 Members. I had a good reason, just over a year ago, I was handed a prescription for HRT as test results showed all my hormones were in the post menopausal range.

TWO Questions You Need To Ask Yourself

12th November 2018

I have TWO important questions for you. A fundamental part of your health revolves around the relationships in your life. Those you spend the most time with are of course some of the most important. Now that science has established the links between your nervous, immune and hormone systems it's clear that how you feel changes your biology, relationships significantly alter your dominant emotions and therefore your health.

The One Resolution You Need To Make For Me

The last year hasn’t been the easiest at times as so many people I love and care about had their lives negatively effected by chronic disease and despite having brilliant medical care, it just wasn’t enough.

5 Reasons Women Struggle To Lose Weight

29th August 2016

In my last blog I discussed how men tend to approach nutrition and whilst they have their “commandments” and attachments to condiments they’re generally speaking a little more laid back about the role nutrition plays in their health. Us ladies on the other hand are pro’s at making this a full time business alongside other demanding roles in our lives, like having a career, being a mother, sister, friend, etc. I’ve been totally guilty of this myself in the past, if you bring on the detail I will over analyse, overwhelm, over Google and overthink all of it!

Female Hormones – The Menstrual Cycle and Natural Contraception

15th February 2016

Us ladies are a little more complicated than the fellas when it comes to having healthy hormones as the female hormone cycle during fertile years is geared towards reproduction. Optimal amounts of certain hormones are required at different times across the month to ensure the maturation and release of an egg occurs from the ovaries and that a pregnancy can be supported sufficiently should it take place. A number of hormones need to synchronise and a delicate balance must be maintained across the 28 days to ensure these necessary biological changes can take place.

Contraception Continued: The Coil, Condoms and the Snip

1st February 2016

Following on from my previous blog on the female contraceptive pill I received a lot of requests to detail other contraceptive options and any potential health implications or side effects. In this blog I'll discuss the coil and barrier methods including condoms and the diaphragm. I've also had some blokes ask if I can cover vasectomies just in case they need to prepare themselves for the responsibly ;-) My biggest dilemma with this blog was what to use as the featured image lol!

Boot Out The Winter Blues

28th November 2015

We receive a lot of emails about how to lift your mood in the winter months when it all gets a bit dark and damp. It's incredibly common to experience a dip in mood health in the midst of winter as the miserable weather deprives us of sunshine and time outdoors. There are lots of things you can do from a nutrition and lifestyle perspective to keep levels of feel good brain chemicals topped up and protect yourself against any nutrient deficiencies that might kick in during the winter months.

Never Happy With Your Body?

27th September 2015

So we’ve noticed a trend with our blogs, when we put “fat loss,”“hormones” or “10 minutes” in the title we get lots of hits, however, when we write about body acceptance and confidence this advice gets the most shares. It made me feel a little sad as it suggests a lot of people are unhappy with their body and searching for ways to lose weight but ultimately just want to like themselves a little more. They also have ten minutes max to do this it seems! I’ve been through a similar journey and thought I would share some tips and advice that have helped me along the way.
